Stellar Astronomy Test 2

25 points    This second test concerns the physics of stellar radiation as well as the H-R diagram.

There will be 16 multiple-choice questions.

    There will be one diagram. The diagram will be, of course, an H-R diagram. You will need to identify the various parts of the diagram.

    Finally there will be two essay questions. The first essay will be a desription of how spectroscopy gives us information about stars.

    The other will ask you to comment on the usefulness of the H-R diagram. What things can be known after making an H-R diagram?

If you do not tell me at least twenty-four hours in advance that you will miss this test, I will not consider a request for a makeup test. The only exception, of course, would be in the case of illness or emergency.
