Test 7 in Planetary Astronomy

23 points    This seventh test covers minor planets, comets, and meteors.


   There will be 18 multiple-choice questions.

   There will be one five point diagram. The diagram will be of the structure of a comet. You will need to identify the different parts. See figure 12.14 in your text for a very similar diagram.

   There will be two, four point, essay questions. The first will have you describe the changes that occur in a comet as it approaches the Sun and passes perihelion. The second essay question will have you describe the difference between meteors, meteoroids and meteorites.

If you do not tell me at least twenty-four hours in advance that you will miss this test, I will not consider a request for a makeup test. The only exception, of course, would be in the case of illness or emergency.
