Jovian Planets

Jovian planets are those which are similar to Jupiter and are huge spheres of hydrogen gas. These giant planets have a host of moons, some of which formed with the planet and some of which are most certainly captured small bodies. Each of these planets is churning up a significant magnetic field in their centers. Each is different in a delightful way.

  • Jupiter is the largest of all known planets orbiting the Sun.
  • Saturn boasts a bright, icy system of rings.
  • Uranus has, for some reason, been tilted on its side. Its icy system of rings faces us like a bulls-eye.
  • Neptune is a blue-green planet with fascinating cloud patterns.
