Comets

   At any given time, there are several comets visible in binoculars and small telescopes. Comets only make the headlines these days if they become very bright; bright enough to be seen even in big cities without optical aid.

   If you ever suspect that you have discovered a comet, you can get credit for the discovery by reporting it to the proper authority, either in the United States or Great Britain. Be careful though. Too many false claims of discovery are not appreciated.
