This evening, low in the East-Northeast you will find the constellation of Perseus. Perseus contains the famous eclipsing binary star called Algol.

In the classical sky legends of Greece and Rome, the star Algol was seen as a representation of the head of Medusa, one of the three sisters known as the Gorgons, who had been punished by the gods for their excessive vanity.
